Backflow Prevention
Backflow prevention is a critical component of protecting the drinking water supply in our cities and communities. Backflow occurs when backpressure or backsiphonage causes the water flow within pipes to reverse direction, allowing water back into the main water supply. When there’s a cross connection between the drinking water supply and a source of possible pollutants or contaminants, a backflow prevention device is needed to prevent public drinking water contamination. Backflow from irrigation systems, hospitals, laboratories, salons, restaurants, and other commercial buildings can jeopardize our drinking water, leading to changes in quality, pollution, and even public illness contamination.
We regularly install backflow prevention devices in commercial and residential buildings to meet city requirements. Whether you received a notice from the water district requiring you to install, repair, or test a backflow device or you’re just being proactive, Green Plumbing Solutions is happy to help make sure you have the right backflow device to meet your needs and keep our drinking water clean.
